Erika: Being exceptional doesn’t mean being perfect.
Erika describes her role at CPM Partners as one shaped by collaboration, curiosity, and growth. Based in Sweden, she’s navigated the transitions of a company merger and an ever-expanding role. Now a OneStream consultant, Erika finds joy in working across teams, solving complex challenges, and embracing the unique culture that CPM Partners fosters.
A surge of collaboration
Erika first joined CPM Partners during a period of transformation. “I was originally working with Oracle solutions,” she explains. “Then the merger happened, and I transitioned to working with OneStream. It was intense and fun at the same time.”
The merger didn’t just change the tools Erika used, it reshaped the company’s culture. “Before, each region operated independently. After the merger, there was this surge of curiosity and collaboration. Suddenly, we were part of a larger team, tapping into each other’s strengths and knowledge,” she says.
Working with colleagues from across Europe on a large-scale project in Germany took Erika out of her comfort zone, and she grabbed the chance to grow. “We had to figure out how to work together quickly, but that challenge became a great way to build trust and relationships.”
Relaxed Professionalism
Ask Erika what sets the company apart, she coins a whole new term that perfectly sums up life at CPM Partners, “relaxed professionalism. It’s a balance between being exceptional at what you do and maintaining a humble, approachable attitude,” she explains.
This ethos creates an environment where people can focus on their strengths. “You don’t have to be a super consultant who knows everything,” Erika explains. “The team composition always balances technical expertise with other skills, ensuring that everyone contributes in their own way.”
This has meant leaning into Erika’s passion for client interactions and project management. “I’ve discovered how much I enjoy understanding what clients need and bringing together all the pieces to deliver something meaningful,” she reflects.
Share challenges without judgment
Throughout her time at CPM Partners, Erika has found support in her colleagues, especially those she worked closely with on early projects. “Two colleagues specifically, who were part of my first big project team, have been invaluable. Whether I’m stuck or just need to vent, I know I can count on them,” she says.
This openness and willingness to help extend across the company. “At CPM Partners, it’s okay to say, ‘I don’t know.’ That’s how we grow,” Erika explains. “You’re encouraged to ask questions and share challenges without fear of judgment.”
Relaxed professionalism
As CPM Partners continues to grow, Erika is mindful of preserving its unique culture. “We don’t have rigid structures or a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, we focus on playing to our strengths and staying open to new ideas,” she says. “It will be key to maintain this relaxed professionalism as we expand.”
